The annual social gathering, "Maffick 2025", for the academic year 2024-25 was a grand celebration, held from 25th January to 29th January 2025. The event was inaugurated on 25th January by the Director of the Institute, Dr. K. N. Nandurkar, in the esteemed presence of all Deans and HODs. This year, the institute is celebrating 40 years of Excellence, marking a significant milestone in its journey of academic and cultural enrichment. To celebrate this occasion, the theme of Maffick for this year was "40 Years of Celebration - Honour the Past and inspire the Future." The event aimed to reflect on the institute's glorious past while motivating students and faculty to strive for a brighter future.
Throughout Maffick 2025, a cultural events and activities captivated the participants. The celebrations commenced with vibrant competitions like Rangoli, Poster, and Sketching on 25th January also students were celebrated Group Day with great enthusiasm. Adding to the excitement, an Open Mic session was introduced for providing a platform for students and staff to showcase their artistic expressions, including singing, poetry, and mimicry at the Institute's open space area. On 27th January, students celebrated Character Day with great enthusiasm, while soft skill competitions such as Elocution, Quiz, and Debate added an intellectual edge to the festivities. On the same day, a special lunch was organized for students and staff, followed by a mesmerizing musical performance, "Nakshatranche Dene," featuring Marathi songs, presented by a talented group of students at the Dr. P C Ray Hall. The spirit of tradition was celebrated on 28th January with Traditional Day, where students adorned ethnic attire, and NSS volunteers showcased a spirited "Lezim" performance in the institute campus. The cultural fervour continued on 28th and 29th January with a spectacular line up of events, including Singing, Drama, Dance, Fashion Show, and the much-anticipated Personality Contest, all held in a grand pendol.
On 29th January, students celebrated Corporate Day and Saree Day, highlighting their professional and cultural elegance. The Maffick 2025 was marked by the Prize Distribution Ceremony, where outstanding students from the academics and winners of cultural events from Maffick 2025 were recognized for their achievements. The grandeur of the event, Mr. Ganesh Narayanan, Chief Information Officer of Marine & Offshore Division, Bureau Veritas Group, Mumbai an esteemed alumnus of the Computer Engineering Department (Batch of 1996), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Representatives from EPIROC, Mr. Prakash Gore and Ms. Pallavi Pande, also attended the ceremony. The prestigious Best Outgoing Student award for A.Y. 2024-25 was bestowed upon Mr. Siddhesh Jagtap from the Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering Department and the Best outgoing student from female category awarded to Ms. Sanjita Jain of Computer Engineering Department. Adding to a proud moment of the afternoon was the felicitation of Ms. Sanika Kulkami a final year student from Robotics and Automation Engineering, who was, honoured by Epiroc and offered a job opportunity with the company.
