A Deemed University is fully autonomous to the extent of awarding its own Degree. A Deemed University is usually a Non-Affiliating version of a University and has similar responsibilities to any University. An Autonomous College enjoys Academic Autonomy alone. The University to which an autonomous college is affiliated will have checks on the performance of the autonomous college.

No. KKWIEER has instituted its own awards, medals, etc. for the academic performance of the students. However, all other events like sports, cultural, and co-curricular activities organized by the SPPU Pune are open for all students for participation.

Certainly, the number of students qualifying for placement interviews is expected to improve, due to rigorous and repetitive classroom teaching and continuous assessment. Also, the autonomous status is more responsive to the needs of the industry. As a result, therefore, there will be a lot of scope for industry-oriented skill development built-in into the system. The graduates from an autonomous college will therefore fetch better employability.

NO. The CGPA of all semesters is used by SPPU Pune to award the degree to students.

B. Tech Honours is the facility given by the Institute for fast learner students. Under B. Tech Honours, the students may choose extra credit courses over their normal B. Tech Course and get the extra knowledge and skills.

No. To take B. Tech Honours, the institute may decide the minimum SGPA criteria in the second year for taking the B. Tech Honours from the third year of the program.

CThe campus is highly charged with academics, co-curricular, and extra-curricular activities. All the buildings are spacious with the latest equipment. We believe in being self-sufficient and green. Research is always encouraged at all levels. Hence, special learning centres known as IBM Centres of Excellence, and Texas centres are commissioned in collaboration with industry. A special fund is allocated for encouraging innovations amongst young talents. To bring awareness about social obligations and discipline, students' units like NSS and PRAYAS are quite active. The institute organizes an annual social gathering “MAFFICK” every year giving scope and a platform to young talents to showcase it. The competent authority, the commissioner state common entrance test cell, Maharashtra state, shall be the authority for the centralized admission process and shall direct the students as per their allotment through the cap to all institutions. You have to pass CET as per Savitribai Phule Pune university rule. You have to fill out the form and give your choice of admission. All the admissions are done as per the rules stated by DTE.

In general, there are two types of quota in engineering institutes, i.e. cap quota and institute-level quota. The percentage of the two quotas is cap quota (80%) and institute-level quota (20%). The institute level quota is filled at the institute level. CAP quota allotments are done by state/ DTE. Eligibility criteria are almost the same for all quota admissions but procedures are a bit different.

  • Eligibility criteria for BE: (i) the candidate should be an Indian national (ii) passed HSC or its equivalent examination with physics and mathematics as compulsory subjects along with one of the chemistry or biotechnology or biology or technical or vocational subjects, and obtained at least 50% marks (at least 45% marks, in case of backward class categories and persons with disability candidate belonging to Maharashtra state only) in the above subjects taken together; and obtained score in CET conducted by the competent authority.

  • Eligibility criteria for the first year of ME: the candidate should have passed a bachelor's degree or equivalent in the relevant field of engineering/technology, specified by the concerned university for admission to a particular postgraduate course from an AICTE-approved institution, with at least 50 % marks (at least 45% marks in case of candidates of backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra state only) and should have obtained score in the gate.
  • Eligibility criteria for the first year of MCA: the candidate should have passed and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra state only) in any full-time bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities and having studied mathematics or statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination and should have obtained score in MAH-MCA-CET.
  • Eligibility criteria for the first year of MBA: the candidate should have passed and obtained a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate (45% in case of candidates of backward class categories and persons with disability belonging to Maharashtra state only) in any full-time bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration in any discipline recognized by the Association of Indian Universities and having studied mathematics or statistics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or higher level examination, and should have obtained score in MAH-MBA/MMS-CET or tests like GMAT, CAT, MAT, ATMA, XAT, CMAT, etc.

Attendance for all lectures, practical group activities, case studies, and seminars held in each semester is compulsory. Less attendance except in exceptional cases (to be determined by the institute) will result in the student being detained in the semester. If the candidate has less than 75% attendance he/she will not be permitted to appear for the exam & will not be allowed to proceed to the next semester.

Yes, the minority communities identified are Muslim, Christian, Sikh and Jain. Such students who have been admitted through cap and who belong to any of the above minority communities and fulfill the norms can apply for either state or national minority scholarship schemes. However, these students will not get any kind of concession in fees at the time of admission and will have to make full payment of fees.

The academic year normally has two terms, sessions or semesters. The academic year begins by June/July and ends by April every year. Term or semester examinations are conducted at the end of each semester. Usually, the first term concludes by October/November followed by examinations (both theory and practical); and the second term starts by mid-December.
