K K Wagh Institute of Engineering Education and Research has always been putting efforts to develop the R&D ecosystem at par with internationally reputed institutes, in coherence with the scope of the departments.
The institute has PG courses and also has a recognized PhD Research Centre in Electrical, Civil, Computer, and E&TC. Departments with the PhD Research Centre have well-equipped and state-of-the-art research labs. The institute also encourages students for industry and interdisciplinary research projects. This has helped us to ignite the young minds which are much needed for a self-reliant nation.
R&D activities are encouraged at both the departmental and institute level. The institute has a central library with e-learning resources. All the departments are also very active in organizing various events and activities for the students and faculty members, such as project exhibitions, faculty development programs, national and international conferences, Industry-Connect programs, etc. The institute has a good practice to facilitate faculty members for their research achievements every year during the Engineer’s Day program.
Consistently, our students and faculty members participate in international conferences, seminars, workshops, industry interactions, intellectual property awareness seminars, etc. It is fruitful for them to remain updated about recent research developments and industry applications. Faculty members also work on industry projects independently providing consultancy services. Faculty members have completed the R&D projects funded by various funding agencies worth Rs. 10 Cr.
The outcome of this research activity is turned into quality paper publications. Our faculty members and students have filed several patents. Students regularly participate in the Smart India Hackathon, Avishkar, and other project competitions and achieve awards, appreciation, and prizes. The institute provides the Innovation Center and AICTE IDEA Lab facility for students and faculty members where they can convert their ideas into reality.
